How we chose this season’s Silent Sundays

Every Silent Sundays title has to work for our accompanist first and the audience second, which sounds backwards until you’ve tried to improvise ninety unbroken minutes against a film you don’t already know cold. That constraint has quietly shaped four seasons of programming more than any curatorial theme we’ve announced.
